“A man’s life is what his thoughts make it.” – Marcus Aurelius
“A man is what he thinks about all day long.” – Emerson
“As a man thinks in his heart so is he.” – Bible
As I prepare for a workshop this week I realize that everywhere I
turn, whether it is current self help literature or ancient spiritual
wisdom, the message is the same: we become what we think about.
What are the thoughts that occupy your mind? Are they thoughts
of all that is good and beautiful in the world or are they thoughts of
all that is wrong? Are your thoughts of what you want more of in
your life or of what you don’t want in your life?
Take a moment to observe your thoughts.
Is that what you want more of?
What DO you want?
Ways to change your thoughts:
Count your blessings.
Tell people what you appreciate about them.
Ask yourself: Is there a different way to look at this?
Put an index card on your desk that asks: What is important to me?
List your dreams and read them every day.
Ask yourself: How can I bring good out of this situation?
Do something every day that makes you smile.
Ask yourself: How do I put more joy into my life?
When you think of a problem look for a solution.
Ask yourself: What do I want in my life and what steps am I taking towards it?
How you think will make a world of difference to you and
a difference in the world.
